Howdy, howdy! April here, back to fill you in on what’s going on in my noggin this week.

So we’ve all heard the expression, ‘The grass is always greener on the other side,’ but why is that always the case?

No matter where you are in life, it’s human nature to always be looking for the next best thing, to get bored of the same. Even if you have the ‘perfect‘ life there’ll always be something to complain about.. it’s only human.

Now before you start getting your guard up and tell me you don’t do this, let me tell you that I’m majorly guilty of this affliction! Hell, Cole and me moved across the uk to where the grass was greener…

I guess this is why I’ve been thinking so much about this saying. We moved miles thinking we would be instantly happier because life is better here, of course it’s not that simple. When we arrived it was so much harder than we thought it would be, it didn’t all just fall into place we had to grab everything offered to us and fight some tough fights to get the things we’ve now got. Saying that, I don’t for one second regret moving here because although the grass isn’t greener here yet, the ground we’ve landed on is the perfect spot.

Yesterday I saw a post on instagram that literally just said, ‘Make the grass green where you are‘. It was almost like the universe was telling me I can’t just keep moving onto the next thing because I think it will make me happier. Life is about making the most of what you’ve got, finding the positives and growing those things. Figuring out what’s bothering you about where you are and changing those things, (think of them as weeds killing your grass).

Here’s the point I’m trying to make. Through life you’re always going to think the grass is greener other places but it’s really down to you to make the grass green where you are. You’re never going to get handed the perfect patch of land, you have to cultivate what you’ve got, plant the seeds and look after them, (am I going over board with this metaphor?) because in the end you have all the tools you need you just have to be willing to put the hard work in and use them.
