Sup, Cole here.

The beautiful thing about this blog is that Beeha and myself have been able to work on parts of it from since before we launched. Before any of you read or viewed our content. Before our lives looked easy.

Right now, as I type this I want to tell you about the struggle Beeha and I face every day leading up to our move and launch.

SELLING EVERYTHING

So in order for us to fund our trip abroad followed by our move to another country we are having to sell 90% of our possessions as we are planning to downsize to the point where we can do van life. On paper it sounds simple…

“sell all your shiz for dolla dolla”Β

And yeah that is, in a nutshell, what we are doing. However the time it takes to get photos of absolutely everything, get it online, get it on to multiple websites, actually make the sale, and if it fails do the whole process again. Is a pain. Then there is the actual parting with your possessions. Some of the stuff we are selling are personal treasures we care for but know there is no space for it where we are going. It hurts to say goodbye but it’s a sacrifice that has to be made.

WORKING CRAZY HOURSΒ

Currently, at the time of me writing this Beeha and I work full time jobs in a desperate attempt to save enough money for all the things we are aiming to do.

We are both doing cold-calling jobs. Meaning we go door to door. I do it selling coffee to different cafes who already have coffee… So it’s like trying to sell money to the bank.

Beeha does charity work. So she has to go door to door asking people to sign up. Both jobs are utterly exhausting as we spend 8 hours a day walking and carrying things only to be rejected over and over again. Which takes a tole on you physically AND mentally.

LACK OF TIME TOGETHERΒ

The hardest part about this is that both of us had to give up jobs in cafes that we very much enjoyed, to do these jobs and earn enough dolla to do what we want to do. Sadly the jobs we work now have clashing hours meaning we now see far less of each other. I leave at 8am and get home at 5pm. Beeha starts at 12 and finishes at 8pm each day.

I know what you’re thinking. “Mate, thats fine there’s only a few hours difference” .. Yeah… you aint wrong. But working these different hours means we spend about an hour a night with each other before I go to bed and that’s it till the weekend. The weekends are spend trying to prepare OurVibes content, as well as SELLING EVERYTHING! remember when I spoke about how much of a pain that is.

IS IT SCARYΒ

YES. OH MY SWEET BABY JEZZOOS YES. As it stands. We both have a solid and secure income. We both live comfortably in our little cosy flat and we know exactly what’s happening. In a mere two months time we will be homeless, jobless, and in places we have never been. It’s terrifying. But to quote a quote I saw on Facebook.

“If it excites you and scares you at the same time, you should do it”

“Time to fuck the blender”

“Wait. NO”

haha minus the last part I agree with the above. It’s scary yes, but it’s an incredible opportunity to live the lives most only dream of. At the end of the day we have each other and that means more than anything. But don’t think for a second we have had it easy. As I write this I am absolutely shattered and miss ma Beeha more than anything.

Only 7 weeks to go! LETS DO THIS!
